Sarah M. Hopkins Kilbourn diary, 1888.

Diary of Sarah M. Hopkins Kilbourn, chronicling her daily life for a portion of the year 1888. Her brief entries mainly recount her personal activities for the day, the weather, and sometimes activities of her husband Dwight C. Kilbourn. Of particular interest are her entries from Mar. 11-15 during the Connecticut blizzard of 1888. Entries in the diary end on Mar. 21.

Sarah M. Hopkins Kilbourn was daughter of Edward and Melissa Alfred Hopkins, of Litchfield, Conn. She married Dwight Canfield Kilbourn in 1866, a Litchfield, Conn., lawyer and author. She was a member of the D.A.R. and actively involved with the Litchfield County Temporary Home for dependent and neglected children. The couple lived in East Litchfield and had no children.
